Job summary

The Theatre Royal in Timaru is seeking a skilled Technical Production Manager to lead the technical production across live performances and events. This role requires coordinating people, equipment and practical solutions to ensure smooth shows.

You'll work with the Theatre Manager and touring companies, driving safety and high-quality outcomes, while shaping how production is delivered in a vibrant arts and events venue.

Qualifications

• Experience in theatre, live events, or a similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of lighting, audio, staging, video and rigging.
• Ability to lead teams and coordinate contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership across technical production, event planning and stakeholder coordination.
• Coordinate with touring companies, producers, hirers, contractors and internal teams.
• Shape how technical production is delivered and ensure productions have the necessary resources.
• Support the team and establish Theatre Royal as a high-quality arts and events destination.
