Job summary

Frontline Recruitment Group is seeking a skilled perioperative nurse to join a close-knit theatre team in Hamilton. You will work across all stages of the perioperative journey, supporting surgeons and anaesthetists in a modern, well-equipped environment.

The role offers either full-time or 0.9 FTE flexibility with a competitive salary, relocation support, and a focus on development within a high-performing team.

Qualifications

  • NZ registered nurse with current practising certificate.
  • Minimum three years' theatre experience.
  • Proficient in both scrub and circulating roles.
  • Able to work autonomously with a solid clinical foundation.
  • Strong communication and patient-centred care.

Responsibilities

  • Care across all stages of the perioperative journey in theatre.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and nursing colleagues to support patient outcomes.
  • Provide intraoperative support and equipment setup with attention to safety and efficiency.

We're looking for a skilled perioperative nurse to join a close-knit theatre team in Hamilton. You'll be working in a modern, well-equipped environment across a variety of surgical services, playing a meaningful role in delivering high-quality care at every stage of the perioperative journey.

About the role

You’ll be part of a tight-knit multidisciplinary team, working closely alongside surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing colleagues to deliver great patient outcomes. Day to day you'll be hands-on across all stages of the patient journey, from preparation and equipment setup through to intraoperative support, always keeping best-practice front of mind. The role is available as either a full-time position or 9 days a fortnight if a little more flexibility suits you better. You'll be joining a high-performing team that genuinely invests in the development and growth of its people.

Skills and experience
  • New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate
  • At least three years' experience in a theatre environment
  • Confident and capable across both scrub and circulating roles
  • Comfortable working autonomously with a solid clinical foundation
  • A natural communicator who works well with those around them
  • Passionate about delivering safe, high-quality care with the patient at the centre
  • Able to hit the ground running across a variety of specialties and theatre environments
  • A background in orthopaedic theatre will be looked on favourably
  • Any exposure to a private hospital environment is a bonus
