Job summary

Jora New Zealand is seeking an experienced Test Lead to establish and lead testing activities from initiation through to completion. The role involves hands-on testing, building testing frameworks and governance, and ensuring quality across POS device rollouts and end-to-end workflows.

You will engage with vendors, business and technical teams to drive coverage, traceability and timely defect resolution. Relocation to Queenstown may be required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Test Lead or QA Lead delivering testing from concept to completion.
• Experience with POS devices and/or POS system implementations is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of test management tools and defect tracking systems.
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; analytical and risk-aware.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the test strategy, plans and governance from scratch.
• Lead end‑to‑end testing across hardware, software and integration layers.
• Manage SIT, UAT, regression, performance and device certification.
• Coordinate with vendors, business stakeholders and technical teams for test coverage.
• Establish traceability between requirements and test scenarios.
• Drive defect management lifecycle and reporting.
• Provide test reporting, quality metrics and go-live readiness assessments.
• Manage stakeholder communications, risks and testing timelines.
• Support production deployments and post‑implementation validation.

We are seeking an experienced and proactiveTest Leadto establish and lead testing activities from initiation through to successful completion. This role requires strong stakeholder engagement, hands‑on testing capability, and the ability to build testing frameworks and governance from the ground up.
You will play a critical role in ensuring quality delivery across POS device rollouts, integrations, and end-to-end workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement thetest strategy, test plans, and governance frameworkfrom scratch.

• Manage all test phases: SIT, UAT, regression, performance, and device certification.
• Coordinate with vendors, business stakeholders, and technical teams to ensure test coverage and alignment.

• Drive defect management lifecycle and reporting, ensuring timely resolution.
• Provide clear test reporting, quality metrics, and go‑live readiness assessments.
• Manage stakeholder communications, risks, dependencies, and testing timelines.
• Support production deployments and post‑implementation validation.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as aTest Lead or QA Leaddelivering testing from concept to completion.
• Good to have experience withPOS devices and/or POS system implementationsbut not mandatory.
• Solid knowledge of test management tools and defect tracking systems.
• Experience working in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills — able to engage technical teams and business leaders effectively.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and risk management skills.
