Job summary

Scania New Zealand is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Technician to join our Waikato workshop. You will perform quality diagnostics, repairs, and engine rebuilds on Scania heavy vehicles, with a focus on safety and workmanship.

You will have a NZQF Level 4 qualification or 3+ years of relevant experience, excellent communication, and pride in delivering high-standard service to customers. This full‑time role offers a supportive team, regular hours, and a market-rate hourly rate.

About The Role

Location: Waikato, some project‑based travel may be required to other workshop or training facilities across New Zealand

Type: Full‑time permanent

Pay rate: $39.00 - $41.00 per hour

Minimum guaranteed hours: At least 42.5 hours weekly

Life on the tools

The role will require you to compete tasks including but not limited to

• Repair & maintenance, mechanical diagnostics and service of vehicles & equipment
• Work on all aspects of repairs & maintenance, including engine re‑builds & servicing
• Committed to health & safety promoting and fostering a safe work environment

About You

You will have a relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or have at least 3 years proven experience working as a Heavy Vehicle Technician
