Job summary

Scania New Zealand is looking for a skilled Heavy Vehicle Technician for our Waikato workshop. You will diagnose, repair and service Scania heavy vehicles, including engine work and system diagnostics, ensuring quality workmanship.

Applicants should have NZQF Level 4 or at least 3 years of proven Heavy Vehicle Technician experience, with strong English communication. This full-time role offers a stable career path in a supportive team environment.

About the role

Location: Waikato, some project-based travel may be required to other workshop or training facilities across New Zealand
Type: Full‑time permanent
Pay rate: $39.00 - $41.00 per hour
Minimum guaranteed hours: At least 42.5 hours weekly

Life on the tools

The role will require you to compete tasks including but not limited to

• Repair & maintenance, mechanical diagnostics and service of vehicles & equipment
• Work on all aspects of repairs & maintenance, including engine re-builds & servicing
• Committed to health & safety promoting and fostering a safe work environment

About you

You will have a relevant NZQF Level 4 qualification or have at least 3 years proven experience working as a Heavy Vehicle Technician
