Job summary

AsureQuality in Lower Hutt, Wellington, is seeking an instrument technician to operate our state-of-the-art chromatography instrument fleet. This permanent role offers hands-on chemistry work in a fast-paced lab environment, with full training and ISO 17025 quality compliance.

You will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to safe, accurate testing of environmental samples, contributing to high standards of food safety for New Zealand and beyond.

Qualifications

  • A passionate interest in science and environmental issues.
  • Hands-on ability and mechanical problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of chemistry principles and laboratory techniques.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, communicative environment.
  • Exemplary attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication.
  • Pride in quality of work and true teamwork.
  • A tertiary education in Chemistry or similar is well regarded.
  • Prior experience with LC or GC instrumentation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Operate chromatography instrumentation in a fast-paced laboratory team.
  • Apply chemistry knowledge to hands-on instrument work and sample testing.
  • Collaborate to ensure reliable, safe testing and accurate results.

Job Description
  • Fast paced, teamwork, laboratory-based role with AsureQuality in Lower Hutt, Wellington
  • Monday to Friday roster
  • Utilise your passion for environmental solutions, chemistry knowledge and hands on instrument experience.

The Opportunity
AsureQuality are looking for an instrument technician to help with operating our state-of-the-art instrument fleet

It is a fabulous opportunity for people to deepen their chemistry knowledge through hands-on operation of chromatography instrumentation. Full training is provided on the job, including quality compliance with ISO 17025 and Safety measures to ensure the job is done reliably and safely according to the Worksafe Act 2015.

AsureQuality is a fast-paced work environment requiring collaboration and team work. Our ideal candidates will have attention to detail, great communication skills, with previous experience in a similar highly regulated environment being a plus.
