Job summary

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is seeking a detail‑oriented technical writer to support the NZ High Volume Operations Engineering team. You will consolidate and update technical documents, manage engineering change records, and assist with continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate with engineers to translate complex processes into clear procedures and publish content in formats that best communicate procedures, photos, sketches, and binding methods.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, with proficient literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and intellectual curiosity.
  • The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Good technical understanding of moulding and assembly processes.

About The Role

In this role you will support the NZ High Volume Operations Engineering team by consolidating and updating technical engineering documentation, managing Engineering Change Documentation, supporting Continuous Improvement projects, and providing general support to the team.

A willingness to learn and understand the manufacturing process is essential. You will collaborate with engineering colleagues and reviewing technical materials to build knowledge of our product technologies, manufacturing methods, and operating procedures. Your key objective will be to translate this information into clear, structured documentation that meets business and operational requirements.

In addition to editing and reviewing technical documents, you will work with stakeholders to define technical specifications and determine publication content. You will also recommend appropriate formats including photos, sketches, and binding methods to ensure operating procedures, technologies, and production sequences are communicated effectively.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A tertiary qualification or relevant industrial experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, with proficient literacy, numeracy, and computer skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability and intellectual curiosity
  • The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Good technical understanding of moulding and assembly processes
