Job summary

Toyota New Zealand is seeking a Technical Trainer to deliver high-quality technical training for technicians across our store network and TNZ employees. This permanent on-site role is based at our Auckland Training Facility.

You will revise materials, update e-learning modules, and ensure training vehicles meet NZTA standards while contributing to workforce development and knowledge sharing within a global automotive leader.

Qualifications

• Extensive automotive industry experience or previous experience in a technical training role.
• A tertiary qualification within adult education.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Competence with Microsoft Office suite.
• A full clean New Zealand drivers’ licence.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training for technicians and provide information, learnings and background knowledge; assist with course development.
• Revise and update training materials prior to courses.
• Update E-Learning modules for various training courses.
• Complete training course reports after each course.
• Maintain Training Workshop to a high standard.
• Maintain training vehicles and ensure NZTA standards are met.

The purpose of this role is to prepare and deliver high-quality technical training for technicians across our store network, Toyota New Zealand employees, and other key stakeholders. Your training will be based on the TNZ Technical training curriculum and address skills shortages highlighted by TNZ’s Service Ops and the dealer network.

This opportunity is permanent full-time based on-site Monday – Friday at our Auckland Training Facility.

What’s involved in the role:

• Deliver training for technicians, providing essential information, learnings, and in-depth background knowledge as well as supporting with course development.
• Revise training materials prior to courses and update them as required.
• Update E-Learning modules for various training courses.
• Complete training course reports at the completion of each course.
• Ensure that the Training Workshop is maintained to a high standard.
• Maintain training vehicles and ensure they are up to NZTA standards.

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:

• Extensive automotive industry experience or previous experience in a technical training role.
• Ideally, a tertiary qualification within adult education.

• A passion for sharing knowledge and information.
