Job summary

Northland Toyota in Whangārei is seeking two experienced Automotive Technicians to join our service team. You will service, diagnose and repair vehicles to Toyota standards in a modern, purpose-built workshop, working with New Zealand’s biggest-selling vehicle brand.

Permanent full-time role with 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday with rostered Saturdays. Relocation assistance is available for successful applicants; comprehensive Toyota training will develop you into a specialist.

Qualifications

• Sound mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• A recognised automotive qualification (NZ Level 4 automotive trade certificate or equivalent).
• Current NZ driver’s licence (or convertible overseas licence).
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and inspection of vehicles to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using current diagnostic tools and software.
• Carrying out repairs across engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, air-conditioning and cooling systems.
• Reprogramming and updating vehicle control modules (e.g., PCM, TCM, ABS, BCM).
• Completing job cards and check sheets accurately, and recommending further repairs where needed.
• Following workshop health and safety procedures.
• Delivering quality workmanship and clear communication to support customers.
