Job summary

OceanaGold Corporation in Otago, NZ invites applications for an Underground Geotechnical Engineer at Macraes mine. You will oversee stability, data collection, planning, and inspections to support production targets while reducing risk.

The role is a safety- and production-critical position within the underground operation. Working an 8/6 days roster, you will operate on site with a focus on QAQC, monitoring systems, and timely reporting to operations.

Qualifications

• A recognised degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology or equivalent.
• Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in underground mining essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertake daily inspections of the underground environment and ground support.
• Review geological mapping and ground condition records daily.
• Undertake routine geotechnical monitoring and interpret data for trends.
• Delineate hazard areas and ensure proper signage and restrictions.
• Ensure QAQC on ground support per GCMP and review mining plans.
