Qualifications

• Experience in technical workshop environments or specialist facilities.
• Prior people leadership or supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and wellbeing practices.
• Experience budgeting, resources, and operations planning.
• Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience using office software and database systems.
• Knowledge of hazardous substance management and compliance.
• Customer-focused approach and service excellence.
• Full driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technical services, workshops, equipment, and specialist resources.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision of the technician team.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, hazardous substances, and workshop procedures.
• Manage workshop operations, budgets, maintenance programmes, and resource planning.
• Support staff and students with high-quality technical advice and services.
• Coordinate equipment procurement, maintenance, certification, and stock control.
• Develop and maintain workshop induction and training programmes.
• Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support marketing, community engagement, and promotional activities.
• Maintain positive relationships across IDEAschool, EIT, and external stakeholders.
