Job summary

The Department of Internal Affairs invites applications for a Technical Lead M365 to provide governance and strategic direction across our Microsoft 365 environment. You will oversee Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Purview and Power Platform, ensuring they remain secure, compliant, reliable and aligned with organisational needs.

You will lead the technical governance of Copilot and Copilot Agents, shape M365 strategy and roadmaps, mentor teams and support major initiatives

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and operating enterprise Microsoft 365 services.
• Strong expertise across Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online and OneDrive.
• Experience with cloud security and Zero Trust principles.
• Ability to lead complex technology initiatives and mentor others.

As Technical Lead M365, you will provide technical leadership, governance and strategic direction across our Microsoft 365 environment. You will oversee platforms including Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Purview, Power Platform and Microsoft Copilot, ensuring they remain secure, compliant, reliable and aligned with organisational needs.

You will lead the technical governance of Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Agents, shape M365 strategy and roadmaps, and guide platform improvements and integrations. Working across Digital teams, you will also provide expert advice, support complex initiatives, strengthen technical standards and mentor others to grow capability across the organisation.

The appointing range for this roleis$118,364 - $147,297,with appointments typically made at the midpoint.

• Extensive experience designing, operating and improving enterprise Microsoft 365 services
• Strong expertise across Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive and Entra ID
• Experience with Intune, Purview, Defender, Power Platform and Microsoft Copilot
• Sound knowledge of identity and access management, Zero Trust, cloud security and Azure integration
• Proven ability to lead complex technology initiatives and provide trusted technical advice
• Strong stakeholder, vendor, coaching and mentoring skills
