Aurecon is seeking a Technical Director, Wastewater Treatment (Process) in Auckland to set technical direction for major wastewater programmes. You will lead a skilled team, engage clients and shape market opportunities across New Zealand with access to Aurecon’s global expertise.

This senior role requires extensive experience in municipal wastewater treatment design and delivery, with a track record of leading complex upgrades and driving growth in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary engineering qualification and chartership with recognised body.
• Proven leadership in municipal wastewater treatment projects.
• Strong client engagement and business development experience.
• Experience with complex plant upgrades and optimising treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Set technical and delivery direction for complex wastewater treatment programmes from concept through design, commissioning and optimisation.
• Lead and grow Auckland-based wastewater treatment capability, guiding a team across disciplines.
• Engage clients to shape opportunities, manage risks and secure project outcomes.
• Mentor and develop the water team, building capability across locations.
• Shape priority opportunities, bids and market presence for Aurecon in New Zealand.
• Drive technical quality through robust engineering and application of digital tools.
