Job summary

AECOM in New Zealand is seeking a Senior Water & Wastewater Process Engineer to lead process design for municipal and industrial water projects in Wellington (and Christchurch). You’ll develop designs from concept to detail, support commissioning, and mentor junior engineers as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelors in Chemical, Process, Environmental, Mechanical or Civil Engineering and about 5+ years in water/ww engineering, with hands-on experience in PFDs,

Qualifications

• We expect a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Process, Environmental, Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
• Approximately 5+ years in water and wastewater engineering.
• Strong experience in water and/or wastewater treatment process design.
• Experience developing process calculations, PFDs, P&IDs and plant design documentation.
• Operational understanding of treatment plants and commissioning activities.
• Clear communication and client/stakeholder relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver process engineering solutions for water and wastewater facilities.
• Develop process designs from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and delivery.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, design calculations, specifications and documentation.
• Contribute to design and optimisation of complex treatment processes and facilities.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, structural and instrumentation engineers.
• Support commissioning, start-up, optimisation and operational troubleshooting.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers.
• Build relationships with clients, operators and stakeholders.
• Contribute to successful project delivery across programme, budget, quality and objectives.
