Job summary

Christchurch City Council in Christchurch is seeking a detail‑oriented contracts professional to join our Technical Contracts Team. You will process contract progress claims, prepare procurement documentation, upload tender materials, collate signing packs, and publish start work notices, all while meeting strict service level agreements.

The role requires experience with Capital Delivery Projects, NZS 3910/3916 contracts, and systems such as SAP and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

  • Methodical approach and ability to multi-task across a range of activities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience using SAP, ideally within a finance or procurement environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience working with Capital Delivery Projects.
  • Experience working with NZS 3910/3916 contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Processing of contract progress claims using complex spreadsheets.
  • Preparation of procurement documentation, including contractual documents.
  • Uploading tender documentation onto the Council's tender portal.
  • Collating all contract documents and additional correspondence for signing by the Council and the successful contractor.
  • Publishing start work notices on the website and distributing to key stakeholders.
  • Working within strict service level agreements.

Working as part of our technical contracts team can be highly demanding, so experience working with contracts would be to your advantage. You’ll also bring:

  • A methodical approach and the ability to multi-task across a range of activities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience using SAP, ideally within a finance or procurement environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working with Capital Delivery Projects.
  • Experience working with NZS 3910/3916 contracts.

  • Position - Full-time, permanent
  • Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga Civic Office, 53 Hereford Street
  • Salary-The salary band for this position goes from $67,635 to $75,150 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
