Job Description

Busy Indian Grocery Store in New Lynn requires a Store Manager. The Store Manager ensures that store operates efficiently and profitably. The role is responsible for the business performance of the store, as well as maintaining high standards of service, and health and safety.

Overseeing and coordinating the complete day-to-day operations of the store to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.

Managing inventory and stock levels, ensuring accurate stock control, timely reordering, and an optimal product mix to meet customer needs and avoid overstock or shortages

Upholding high standards of customer service, resolving complex queries, handling complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction is consistently achieved.

Leading, supervising and mentoring a team of staff, including hiring, on‑boarding, scheduling, performance evaluation and ongoing training and development.

Establish clear performance expectations and KPls for the team, providing regular feedback, coaching and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Formulating and implementing purchasing, pricing and marketing strategies to promote the store's foods and services and maximize sales.

Managing stores budgets and financial operations, including tracking sales performance, analyzing reports, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability,

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of inventory, payroll and financial transactions.

Ensuring full compliance with occupational health and safety standards, employment law, and internal policies and procedures.

Implementing effective visual merchandising and coordinating in-store promotions, advertising campaigns and seasonal displays.

Conducting regular team meetings and briefings to communicate store goals, promotions, and policy updates.

Monitoring competitor activities, industry trends, and customer preferences to inform strategic decisions and adapt store operations accordingly.

Driving a positive, inclusive and high‑performing team environment, encouraging collaborations, recognition, and employee engagement.

Taking full ownership of achieving and exceeding sales targets, while contributing to the broader strategic goals of the company.

Must be able to speak Gujarati and Hindi (essential to be able to deal with customers and suppliers))

Minimum of 30 hours per week

Shift times are between: 9am and 9pm Monday to Sunday including public holidays
