Job summary

Spotswood Primary School is seeking a Certificated teacher to lead a Year 4/5 class on a fixed-term basis for 2027. The appointment covers a staff member seconded to curriculum lead role.

The successful applicant must hold current New Zealand teacher registration and will work across the NZ curriculum, including English, mathematics, science and te reo Māori.

We value aroha, kōrero and ora; visits to the school can be arranged through the office and are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must hold current NZ teacher registration.
• Experience teaching primary year levels is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver cross-curricular programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach a fixed-term Year 4/5 class from 27 Jan 2027 to 10 Dec 2027.
• Deliver high-quality lessons across the NZ curriculum.

Job description

Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 27/01/2027, End Date: 10/12/2027 (To cover an existing teaching staff member who has been seconded internally to a curriculum lead role for the 2027 school year.)

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher

English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

We have a fixed-term teaching position available for a Year 4 and 5 class, starting Wednesday 27 January 2027 and ending Friday 10 December 2027. The position may be suitable for a beginning teacher. Applicants must hold a current New Zealand teacher registration. Please do not apply if you do not currently hold a NZ teacher registration.

The position is fixed-term for one of our permanent teachers to hold a curriculum leader role in 2027.
