Job summary

Matangi School is seeking a flexible, well-organised kaiako for 2027 to cover release and classroom needs across Years 1–8. The role is 0.4 FTE (two days per week) with Term 1 start and a fixed-term end date in 2027.

Matangi School is a well-resourced rural school with a supportive community and an excellent Board. We are looking for a flexible, well-organised kaiako to join our team in 2027.

The position: This is a 0.4 position (two days per week) for 2027, starting in Term 1. You will provide release and classroom cover across the school. Your duties will be set out in the job description. Working days will be agreed prior to employment. There may be an additional 0.2 fixed term teaching available which will be discussed with the successful applicant.

The position is fixed term to cover staff who have temporary flexible working arrangements in 2027.

You will be adaptable and confident working with a range of year levels and colleagues. You will build positive relationships quickly with ākonga, kaiako and whānau, and you will bring a genuine commitment to quality teaching and learning.
