Job summary

Maheno School in Otago is seeking a Part-time, fixed-term Certificated teacher to cover our senior class (Years 5–8) and assist with learning groups across classrooms. Start date is 28 January 2027 and end date 16 December 2027.

Hours are flexible and will be around 0.5 FTE per week, with potential for a little more. The applicant should be well-organised, curriculum capable and a team player who can work with all age groups in Years 1–8, maintaining positive behaviour management and

Qualifications

• Certified teacher with NZ teaching registration.
• Experience in primary/intermediate classroom teaching preferred.

We are seeking a teacher who is well-organised, curriculum capable, energetic and enthusiastic, focuses on positive behaviour management, and someone who is a team player to help support our awesome teachers and students here at Maheno School.

We are looking for a CRT release teacher for our senior class (Year 5-8) as well as assisting with learning groups in other classrooms. The exact hours won't be known until we employ our new senior teacher so we need someone who is happy to be flexible around the hours we will be able to provide. We expect at the very least it will be 0.5 each week but could end up being a little more.

The applicant needs to be prepared to work in with all age groups in our school - Years 1-8.
