Tāhunanui School is seeking a flexible, experienced teacher for a full-time fixed-term role combining CRT release and targeted intervention work, for the 2027 school year.

Tāhunanui is a contributing primary school of around 275 tamariki in sunny Nelson — a warm, inclusive kura with strong staff culture and a genuine commitment to every learner.

This role blends CRT release cover and or small-group and one-to-one intervention, supporting tamariki who need targeted acceleration in literacy and mathematics. The exact split is negotiable with the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is confident teaching across all levels of the school (Years 0–6)
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management and can settle quickly into any class
• Brings flexibility and a "can do" approach
• Has knowledge of structured literacy and evidence-based numeracy (ideally BSLA tier 2 or MAP)
• Actively collaborates with SENCO and LSCs on targeted plans
