Job summary

Allenton School in Ashburton (Canterbury) is seeking a Certificated teacher for a fixed-term maternity leave cover from early 2027. The role covers Primary and Intermediate education (Years 1–8) with flexibility to align Year levels (Year 0–6) to strengths.

English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts

A fixed-term maternity Leave cover position is available within Year 0 to 6 school, with year level negotiable to suit the successful applicants.

We are looking for a teacher who brings energy, passion and thoughtful reflection to everything they do. Strong knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum, successful current classroom practices, a commitment to ongoing professional development and the ability to develop positive relationships with ākonga, whānau and staff are essential.

Allenton School is situated in the west Ashburton suburb of Allenton. With a starting roll of around 390 in 2027, we expect to grow to around 460 by the end of the year.
