Mangere College invites a passionate, innovative te reo Māori teacher to join our kura on a fixed-term maternity leave cover from 16 November 2026 to 2 April 2027. You will teach Te Reo Māori to secondary students (Years 7–15 / wharekura) and contribute to our vibrant, inclusive community.

We value culturally responsive practice, strong relationships with rangatahi and whānau, and a commitment to strengthening te ao Māori and tikanga across the college, including co-curricular and school-wide

Qualifications

• Certificated teacher required.
• Experience teaching te reo Māori in a secondary setting preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with rangatahi, whānau and staff.

Responsabilités

• Teach te reo Māori to secondary students (Years 7–15 / wharekura).
• Inspire and support rangatahi on their te reo journey, strengthening connection to te ao Māori and pride in language and culture.
• Support the development and growth of te reo Māori across the college, creating meaningful opportunities to learn and use te reo with confidence.
• Contribute to co-curricular programmes, cultural activities and school-wide initiatives.
