Job summary

Raglan Area School is seeking a passionate kaiako to cover a fixed-term position for 2027, while a colleague undertakes study leave from term 1 to term 4. The role covers primary and intermediate years 1–8 with a focus on te reo Māori and culturally responsive learning approaches.

The successful candidate will deliver health and physical education, maths and statistics, science, and te reo Māori, fostering inclusive, high-achievement classrooms and strong whānau relationships within the school

Qualifications

• Current Teaching Council NZ registration and practicing certificate.
• Strong commitment to te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, and delivering a culturally responsive curriculum.
• Ability to create engaging, inclusive, and learner-centered environments that foster high achievement and student well-being.
• Excellent communication skills with tamariki, whānau and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Cover a fixed-term position while a teacher takes study leave (term 1 to term 4, 2027).
• Teach across health and physical education, mathematics and statistics, science, and te reo Māori.
