Job summary

MINDSG LTD in Woodlands, Singapore, is seeking a Vocational Coach to provide individualized support and guidance to clients pursuing vocational training goals. You will assess strengths and interests, develop personalized training plans, and support clients across pathways such as contract work, enclaves, supported employment, and open employment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in any relevant discipline e.g. Special Education, Disability Studies, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working directly with persons with disabilities in a vocational, employment, or rehabilitation setting.
• Strong understanding of ID/ASD, their impact on employment, and effective support strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and active listening skills.
• Ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with Persons with ID/ASD.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing client needs and work environments.

Responsibilities

• Work with OT to conduct comprehensive vocational assessments to identify clients' skills, interests, aptitudes, preferences, and support needs.
• Develop vocational goals in individualized development plans (IDPs) with clients and families, outlining steps and timelines.
• Maintain accurate vocational training data including progress tracking and outcomes.
• Address barriers to successful vocational training outcomes (e.g., transportation, assistive technology).
• Provide one-on-one and group coaching in work readiness skills across pathways (contract work, enclaves, supported/open employment).
• Facilitate workshops on workplace etiquette, time management, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with JPJS to assess training and coaching needs of clients in or waiting for open employment.
