The Finance team at Parliamentary Service is essential to supporting those who shape New Zealand’s democracy. We are hiring for a 9 month fixed term position to provide additional support for our team’s election work, and you will be helping the team plan and deliver this exciting mahi.
The Finance team provides financial, planning and procurement services that support sound decision making, strong financial management and excellent service delivery across Parliamentary Service and its customers. The team works closely with budget managers, Members of Parliament and their staff, the Office of the Clerk, Parliamentary Counsel Office and other parliamentary organisations.
As part of the Finance team, this fixed-term Systems Accountant role has been established to support a significant programme of systems enhancement and election-related change. Working alongside an experienced Systems Accountant, and reporting to the Finance Manager – Business Partnering, you will help improve processes, deliver system enhancements and ensure our numerous and varied finance users have the tools and support they need to succeed.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of a broad and varied finance systems portfolio while contributing to important organisational outcomes during the transition to New Zealand's next Parliament.
You will play a key role in maintaining and improving our Financial Management Information System (FMIS), supporting users, enhancing reporting capability and driving continuous improvement across finance processes.
This role offers significant organisational exposure, working to support hundreds of budget managers and finance users across Parliament and related entities. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, taking ownership and delivering tangible improvements within a supportive and highly collaborative environment.
