Location: Wellington

Salary band & range: General Salary Range G - $69,011 to $88,380 depending on skills and experience

About the Role - Kōrero mō te Tūranga

This is an exciting parental leave cover opportunity for a proactive and customer-focused Business Systems Support Administrator. Working closely with the Systems Accounting team, you will help ensure MPI's Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and related services run smoothly, while supporting users across the organisation. You'll be someone who takes ownership, builds strong relationships, and enjoys finding solutions to challenges, ensuring requests are managed effectively and deliverables are completed on time.

This role offers far more than business-as-usual administration. You'll have the opportunity to learn how finance systems support the wider organisation, gain exposure to government financial processes and budgeting, and contribute to a range of system enhancement initiatives and projects. With regular interaction across MPI, including senior stakeholders, you'll develop a broad understanding of the organisation while building valuable experience in finance systems and system administration.

As the Business Systems Support Administrator, you will:

  • Provide first-level support for FMIS-related enquiries and requests
  • Monitor shared inboxes, manage requests, and elevate issues as required
  • Assist with troubleshooting system issues and resolving user queries
  • Support user access management and financial delegation administration
  • Build positive relationships with users and stakeholders across MPI
  • Deliver timely, high-quality customer service and support
  • Help improve the Ci Anywhere end-user experience
  • Contribute to system upgrades and finance system improvement initiatives
  • Support Systems Accountants with day-to-day system administration activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working

This role is ideal for someone interested in developing a career in finance systems, business systems administration, or organisational support, with plenty of opportunities to learn, grow, and make an impact.

About You - Mōu

We're looking for someone with a background in finance, accounting, business systems, or a related environment who enjoys solving problems and continuously improving the way people work. You will be a proactive self-starter with strong analytical skills, able to identify opportunities for improvement, investigate issues, and see tasks and projects through to completion. Experience supporting business processes or finance systems would be advantageous, and while knowledge of TechnologyOne is desirable, we're equally interested in candidates who are quick to learn and keen to develop their technical expertise. You will be confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and providing high-quality customer service across the organisation. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, take ownership, and proactively seek out answers when faced with unfamiliar challenges.

Most importantly, you'll bring a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in developing your knowledge of finance systems and how they support business outcomes. You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply. We offer a breadth of development and learning opportunities and will welcome an application if you think you could make a great fit.
