Job summary

Southern Cross Central Lakes Hospital in Queenstown invites a meticulous Loans Coordinator to join our theatre and sterile services team. You will coordinate incoming and outgoing loan equipment, liaise with suppliers, and ensure inventory is received, checked, tracked and returned to exact standards.

This permanent role is 60–80 hours per fortnight, with shifts Monday to Friday. You will work closely with clinical teams to support patient care while maintaining documentation and QA, and you’ll

Qualifications

• Experience in Sterile Services, operating theatre or similar healthcare setting.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build stakeholder relationships.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
• Proactive, independent and team-oriented.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts Mon-Fri.
• Customer-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Understanding of sterile services processes, infection prevention and quality standards desirable.
• Loans Coordinator experience advantageous but not essential.
• Willingness to complete Sterile Services Qualification Level 4.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming and outgoing loan equipment; liaise with suppliers to manage timeframes.
• Reconcile inventory documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Support smooth flow of surgical services in alignment with quality and infection standards.
• Ensure equipment is received, checked, tracked and returned appropriately.
• Work with theatre staff and clinical teams to support patient care.
