Job summary

HEB Construction is seeking a Cadet to join our Surfacing whanau in Rotorua, NZ. You will assist with testing surfacing materials and support QA processes as part of a proactive, safety-focused team.

You will gain hands-on experience through field and laboratory testing, reports, and collaboration with engineers, with a clear career pathway and training opportunities in a dynamic, national-significance projects environment.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of quality assurance.
• Willingness to learn.
• A degree or diploma in a related field is a plus.
• Must be a team player with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with testing surfacing materials (asphalt, chipseal) and related processes.
• Carry out field and laboratory tests to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Prepare and submit test reports and provide feedback to the team.
• Work closely with engineers to support surfacing operations.
• Measure and record site dimensions for surfacing works.
• Participate in and occasionally lead toolbox meetings.
• Help prepare progress payment claims.
• Compile and submit QA documentation to clients.
