Job summary

Geneva Healthcare in Tauranga is seeking an empathetic and motivated Support Worker to join our team. You will provide practical and emotional support to clients in their homes and community, helping them live fulfilling lives. Key tasks include meal preparation, outings, medication support, personal care, and safe moving/hoisting assistance.

Aged care or disability support experience and a valid NZ driver's license are preferred. Police vetting applies.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant support or healthcare experience (NZQCF qualification acceptable).
• Positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
• Experience supporting children/young people with complex disabilities is a plus.
• Excellent communication and flexibility to work alternate weekends.
• Knowledge of safe moving and handling practices.

What You’ll Do:

As aSupport Worker, you’ll help clients achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives through practical and emotional support. Tasks may include:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Medication support
• Personal care (showering, toileting, etc.)
• Manual handling, and hoist transfers

What We’re Looking For:

• Atleast 3 years of relevant support working or healthcare work experience, or a relevant qualification on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF)
• A positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others

Experience supporting children or young people with complex physical disabilities.

• Great communication skills and flexibility to work alternate weekends

Knowledge of safe moving and handling practices

Ability to follow therapy programmes and clinical guidance

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport
