Job summary

HealthCare New Zealand in Oamaru seeks a dedicated Support Worker to help clients live independently at home and in the community. You will follow care plans and provide practical and emotional support to help clients reach their goals.

Responsibilities include meal prep, outings, medication administration, personal care, and light home management. A full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport are often required.

• Previous healthcare or care-giving experience would be advantageous.

• Most positions require a full NZ drivers' licence and your own reliable transport.

We are currently seeking candidates in Oamaru who are available to work Monday to Sunday between 7.30am to 6.30pm and flexible to travel around.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
