Job summary

IDEA Services, part of the IHC Group, is seeking a Support Worker in Wellington's Hutt Valley area. You will work with adults with intellectual disabilities, providing practical daily living support, personal care, and community participation.

Full training is provided and shifts include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers. Prior experience is preferred but not required; a Full NZ driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

As a Support Worker, you'll work alongside people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. You'll provide practical and personalised support that reflects each person's unique aspirations, preferences, and strengths.

Depending on the service, you may support people with daily living activities, community participation, personal care, medication administration, household tasks, and mobility assistance.

This is apart-time position, offering a variety of shifts across weekdays, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.

Prior experience in the health and disability sector is preferred but not required. Astrong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
