Job summary

IDEA Services is seeking casual Support Workers to assist individuals across South Taranaki, including Stratford and Hawera. Shifts cover day, evening, overnight and weekends, with duties spanning transport, finances, meals and personal care.

No prior health sector experience is required; full training will be provided. You’ll help clients gain independence while building meaningful relationships in the community.

Qualifications

• No formal health sector experience required; willingness to learn and train on the job.
• Ability to handle diverse tasks and adapt to changing needs.
• Proactive and reliable with good communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to develop independence and daily living skills.
• Assist with transportation, finances, meals, shopping, cleaning, and personal care.
• Monitor safety, manage risk, and respond to challenging situations.
• Maintain encouraging and respectful relationships with clients and families.
