Job summary

Hōhepa Canterbury is seeking dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Christchurch. You will work closely with the person supported to foster independence, meaningful routines, and community participation in a holistic, supportive environment.

No previous experience is required as we provide on-the-job training. A full NZ driver’s licence and right to work in NZ are required; shifts include part-time, full-time, wakeover, and sleepover options.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training provided; prior experience not required.
• Ability to read situations and apply boundaries thoughtfully.
• Willingness to support personal cares and daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Work with the person supported to create rich, diverse experiences.
• Read situations and problem-solve to support independence.
• Assist with personal cares, cooking, medication administration, and household tasks.
• Encourage community participation and access to wider activities.
