Job summary

Hōhepa Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, is seeking casual Support Workers to help people with intellectual disabilities live fulfilled lives. You will work in homes, communities, and day services, delivering person-centered support and promoting participation.

No prior experience required as on-the-job training is provided. Applicants must have a NZ driver's licence and be able to work in NZ; fixed rosters offer reliable hours from 6 to 50 per week.

Qualifications

• Experience is not a prerequisite; motivation to help others is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to people with disabilities in home, community, and day services.
• Facilitate community participation, recreational activities, and goal attainment.
• Assist with personal care, cooking, cleaning, medication administration, and stores purchases.
• Follow individual support plans and ensure routine is respected when required.
• Support to achieve meaningful activities and community inclusion.
