Job summary

Geneva Health in Christchurch, South Island is seeking a compassionate Support Worker to assist clients to live fulfilling lives through practical and emotional support.

You will provide meal preparation, personal care, medication support, community outings, and safe mobility assistance, in-home and in the community. Full NZ driver’s license required; weekend availability preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or caregiving is preferred.
• A valid NZ driver’s licence is required.
• Willingness to work alternate weekends and flexible hours.
• Ability to perform personal care tasks with compassion.

Responsibilities

• Meal preparation for clients.
• Arrange and participate in community outings and activities.
• Provide medication support and supervision as required.
• Assist with personal care (showering, toileting, etc.).
• Support safe mobility, including manual handling and hoist transfers.

What You’ll Do:

As aSupport Worker, you’ll help clients achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives through practical and emotional support. Tasks may include:

What We’re Looking For:

• A positive attitude and a genuine desire to help others
• Previous healthcare or caregiving experience (preferred but not essential)
• Great communication skills and flexibility to work alternate weekends
• Healthcare qualifications (advantageous)
• Full NZ driver’s licence and reliable transport (most roles)
