Job summary

Wise Group's Pathways in Waihi is seeking a Part-time Support Worker to assist with daily living and wellbeing. 16 hours/week, based at Gilmour Street, Waihi, with afternoon shifts (Thu & Sun, 2:00pm–10:30pm).

You will support budgeting, independent living, attend appointments, connect people with resources, and help with household tasks, medication support, and community engagement while building resilience.

Qualifications

• Level 4 NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing NZCHW (or equivalent)
• Full NZ Driver Licence
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain within two months
• Strong time management and accurate record keeping
• Knowledge and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Responsibilities

• Budgeting and supporting independent living
• Advocating and helping people to be well and thrive
• Attend appointments and connect with resources to living well and build resilience
• Help people connect with their communities and build relationships that matter
• Provide medication support and assist with household management
• Manage a caseload and complete reporting requirements
• Support with everyday tasks (cleaning, cooking, gardening) as needed

About the role | Mō tēnei tūnaranga mahi

You’ll be working 16 hours per week in the Hauraki Waihi Community team, based out of the Gilmour Street office, Waihi.

As a Support Worker your responsibilities include:

• Supporting with budgeting and independent living
• Advocate and support people to be well and thrive
• Attend appointments and connect them with resources that support them in living well and assist them in building resilience
• Help people connect with their communities, building the relationships that matter most
• Foster positive change for a more positive life
• Provide medication support for our people
• Provide support with household management
• Managing a caseload and all reporting requirements
• Whatever it takes - cleaning, cooking, gardening or helping with everyday household tasks

About You | Mō

• You must hold a Full NZ Driver Licence
• Hold a current First Aid Certificate or be willing to obtain one within two months of starting

• Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
