Job summary

New Zealand Defence Force – Trentham, North Island, is seeking a Foundation Supply Instructor to deliver specialist supply and logistics training, using adult learning principles to support student success.

You will prepare and deliver programmes, facilitate learning, manage course administration and assess student performance. Experience in SAP Inventory Management and a background in training or logistics will help you thrive. There is occasional domestic travel across NZDF camps and bases.

Qualifications

  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Experience using SAP Inventory Management processes.
  • Previous training, coaching, mentoring or instructional experience.
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory management or warehouse operations.
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and manage competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of NZDF training systems, policies or the Systems Approach to Learning (SAL) is desirable.

New Zealand Defence Force – Trentham, North Island

The Supply Instructor provides specialist supply and logistics training, helping NZDF personnel develop the skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in their roles.

Working from established training content, you will prepare and deliver lessons, selecting the most appropriate instructional methods and learning approaches to support student success.

There are three levels of Instructors; Foundation, Advanced and Chief/Specialist Instructor.

The Supply Instructor, as a Foundation Instructor, will deliver specialist instruction, facilitation, coaching and assessment within your area of expertise, using recognised adult learning principles.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and deliver supply and logistics training programmes
  • Facilitate learning using effective instructional and adult learning techniques
  • Manage course administration, reporting and training resources
  • Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback

The salary for this role ranges from $83,507 - $92,111, inclusive of a 4% superannuation contribution. Appointments within this range are based on skills and experience.

You will need to have excellent public speaking and presentation skills and be confident in presenting to groups of students. The ability to articulate lesson material so that it is easily absorbed and your good working knowledge of training and education theory, instructional design practices and educational evaluation will be vital to your success in this role.

You will also bring:

  • Previous training, coaching, mentoring or instructional experience
  • Experience in supply chain, logistics, inventory management or warehouse operations

This role requires occasional domestic travel across NZDF’s Camps and Bases. A Class 1 Driver Licence would be desirable.

Low Level Security Clearance
  • You must be a New Zealand citizen or you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa.
  • At minimum, you must hold New Zealand Permanent Residence or have a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa, and you must be a citizen of and have lived in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States of America or New Zealand continuously for the last five (5) years.
  • You must have a five (5) year background history that can be verified and assessed appropriately by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) to determine if you are suitable for a security clearance at this level.
