Tauranga City Council is offering a Summer Intern position in the City Waters team. You will help develop a practical framework to monitor stormwater pond siltation and maintenance needs, blending research, fieldwork, and data analysis to prioritise assets at risk of capacity loss.

Ideal candidates are pursuing or have completed a postgraduate environmental qualification, with a keen interest in monitoring and safety around open water.

Formación

• Postgraduate environmental qualification with interest in monitoring.
• Safety-conscious and able to work around open water and hazards.
• Experience with GIS, data handling, or related techniques is valuable.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake visual inspections and quantitative field surveys of stormwater ponds.
• Help develop a Stormwater Pond Siltation and Maintenance Assessment Manual.
• Contribute to evidence-based maintenance priorities for city infrastructure.
