Job summary

The University of Waikato seeks a facilitator to design and deliver induction and career-stage professional learning pathways that build teaching capability from foundational to advanced practice. You will lead institution-wide engagement in peer review of teaching and create scalable resources while supporting academics pursuing HEA Fellowships.

Based at our Hamilton campus with coverage across Tauranga and internationally, this role shapes learning design and pedagogy for students and staff

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education, adult learning or related field, or equivalent; a doctorate or teaching qualification would be a plus.
• At least five years in higher education teaching and professional development.
• Knowledge of teaching quality frameworks, peer review processes, HEA Fellowship pathways.
• Ability to apply pedagogical research to programme design.
• Experience coordinating large-scale induction or professional development programmes.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and matauranga Maori in work.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver induction and career-stage professional learning pathways building teaching capability.
• Lead institution-wide engagement in peer review of teaching and assessment.
• Build scalable professional learning resources reducing one-to-one support needs.
• Establish teaching-focused communities of practice and support teaching qualifications.

Education

Master's degree in education or related field

Doctorate or tertiary teaching qualification (preferred)
