Job summary

The University of Waikato invites an experienced learning design leader to help establish the Teaching Design and Innovation Studio on the Hamilton campus, supporting Tauranga campus and international partners. You will lead the development of broad learning design frameworks and supervise multi-disciplinary course redesigns.

Reporting to the Associate Director, you will mentor staff, deliver professional learning, consult with senior academic leaders, and evaluate innovations to drive

Qualifications

• At least five years in learning design in higher education.
• Deep understanding of learning theories, curriculum frameworks, assessment design and Universal Design for Learning.
• Experience in needs analysis, co-design approaches and facilitation, guiding programme teams through collaborative design.
• Familiarity with learning management systems, educational technology and learning analytics, applying data to inform design decisions.
• Experience in programme evaluation, assessing the effectiveness of curriculum and learning design innovations.
• Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and matauranga Maori, and applying this in your work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of learning design frameworks and standards across the University.
• Tackle complex, multi-disciplinary programme redesigns and translate frameworks into practice.
• Consult with senior academic leaders and programme teams on learning design challenges.
• Mentor the Teaching and Learning Designer and deliver professional learning to build design capability.
• Lead evaluation of learning design innovations to inform continuous improvement.
