Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Structural Steel Site Installer to join a busy Christchurch engineering team. This is a predominantly site-based role involving structural steel installation, welding and architectural metalwork, with workshop fabrication when required.

Qualifications

• Proven welding and fabrication experience within structural steel.
• Appropriate welding tickets and BCP — essential.
• Clean Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail; safety conscious.

Responsabilités

• Install and erect structural steel and architectural metalwork on site.
• Complete site welding using mobile welding equipment.
• Fabricate, assemble and weld steel components in the workshop as required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and measurements.
• Cut, shape, align and join steel using appropriate welding techniques.
• Inspect welds, complete grinding and finishing, and meet quality standards.
• Work with site teams to meet project deadlines while maintaining safe practices.

Structural Steel Site Installer

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Structural Steel Site Installer to join a busy Christchurch engineering team. This is a predominantly site-based role involving structural steel installation, welding and architectural metalwork, with workshop fabrication when required. Location: Sydenham, Christchurch

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $38–$45 per hour + weekly pay

What You’ll Be Doing

• Install and erect structural steel and architectural metalwork on site
• Complete site welding using mobile welding equipment
• Fabricate, assemble and weld steel components in the workshop as required
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and measurements
• Cut, shape, align and join steel using appropriate welding techniques
• Inspect welds, complete grinding and finishing, and meet required quality standards, including UT testing where applicable
• Work with site teams to meet project deadlines while maintaining safe working practices

What We’re Looking For

• Proven welding and fabrication experience within the structural steel industry
• Appropriate welding tickets and BCP — essential
• Strong experience with structural steel installation and site welding
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Clean Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
• High standards of workmanship, accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and commitment to workplace health and safety
