Job summary

IAG is seeking a Strategic Platforms Manager to shape the future of technology across our platforms. You will lead modernisation efforts, build high-performing teams, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure technology solutions that unlock business value and growth.

You will drive investment strategy, governance, and portfolio performance while navigating a dynamic landscape with AI and engineering practices at the core of transformation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale technology transformation or modernisation programs.
• Strong people leadership with focus on capability and engagement.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity during change.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage complex partner relationships.
• Knowledge of software delivery, agile ways of working, and AI/Engineering practices.

• Lead platform modernisation and uplift initiatives to improve capability and outcomes.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland), Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) or Ōtautahi (Christchurch).

• Define and drive the vision, roadmap, and investment strategy for strategic platforms aligned to business growth and transformation goals.
• Lead platform modernisation and uplift initiatives that improve capability, simplify technology environments, and deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Build and lead high performing teams, developing internal capability and curiosity into the fast changing technical landscape through AI and Engineering practices, creating an environment where people can thrive through change.
• Partner with senior stakeholders, vendors, and technology teams to shape future platform requirements and achieve shared outcomes.
• Oversee major programs and platform evolution, ensuring solutions remain scalable, secure, and fit for future needs.
• Guide investment prioritisation, governance, and portfolio performance to maximise the value delivered from technology investments.

• Knowledge of software delivery, agile ways of working, and technology operating environments and curiosity into the fast changing technical landscape through AI and Engineering practices
• Commercial and vendor management experience that supports successful delivery outcomes.
• An enterprise mindset with curiosity, strategic thinking, and a drive for continuous improvement.
