Job summary

Ministry of Justice in New Zealand seeks an experienced organisational development leader to shape its People Strategy and leadership framework. You will influence senior leaders, connect strategy with delivery, and lead a team of four to embed coaching, development and employee experience across the organisation.

Reporting to the Director Culture and Capability, you will translate priorities into tangible actions, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and guide talent

Qualifications

• Diagnose organisational needs and lead the design, delivery and evaluation of organisational development strategies.
• Expertise in leadership development, coaching, employee experience or talent development.
• Use research, workforce data and employee insights to identify priorities and assess impact.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a specialist team and deliver through others.
• Build relationships with senior leaders and translate strategy into practical action.
• Demonstrated commitment to Māori Crown Relations and te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and refresh of the Ministry's People Strategy and associated sub-strategies.
• Strengthen the Ministry's leadership system, connecting leadership expectations, development and everyday practice.
• Advance coaching and development approaches that help leaders and staff learn and develop through their work.
• Continue to enhance employee experience and data, turning insights into meaningful action.
• Shape and progress emerging talent work in line with priorities and future needs.
• Guide the team to design and deliver evidence-informed OD work with clear outcomes.
• Lead and develop a capable, high-performing team that delivers on its commitments and builds credibility.
• Influence senior leaders and leadership teams through coaching and strategic advice.
