Job summary

Sunnytech Solar in Auckland is seeking a Business Analyst to act as the company’s in-house industry researcher and commercial analyst. This is primarily a research and advisory role, sizing and testing new markets such as solar generation, battery storage, portable power stations, and EV charging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in business analysis, economics, engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years' experience in industry research, market analysis or commercial strategy.
• Strong ability to size markets and build defensible conclusions with limited data.

Responsibilities

• Research NZ and overseas markets for solar, batteries, EVs and related infra.
• Track competitors, suppliers and distribution channels and benchmark position.
• Build evidence bases from industry data and company records for analysis.
• Evaluate new business models and revenue streams with commercial logic.
• Prepare feasibility studies including payback and break-even modelling.
• Assess supply side options, costs, lead times and certifications.
• Gather market intelligence from customers, partners and events.
• Analyze current workflows and advise changes to enable new product lines.
• Work with leadership to set goals and prioritise expansion plans.
• Draft proposals and support rollout with updated procedures.
