Sunnytech Solar is seeking a Business Analyst to act as the in-house market researcher and commercial analyst. The role focuses on studying NZ and international markets for solar generation, lithium battery storage, portable power stations, EV chargers and related infrastructure to translate research into actionable insights for the management team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in business analysis, economics, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in industry research, market analysis, business analysis or commercial strategy.
• Ability to compile data into clear reports and business cases.

Responsibilities

• Research NZ and overseas markets for solar generation, LiFePO4 storage, portable power, EVs and charging infrastructure.
• Benchmark Sunnytech Solar against competitors and assess distribution channels.
• Build evidence bases from industry data and internal records for management use.
• Evaluate new business models and revenue streams with commercial logic.
• Prepare feasibility studies, volumes, pricing, margins, and payback analyses.
• Assess supplier options, costs, lead times, and compliance requirements.
• Gather market intelligence from customers, installers and trade events.
• Analyze current sales-to-delivery workflows and identify system changes needed.
• Develop practical solutions with leadership to enable expansion goals.
• Draft proposals and update procedures to support rolled-out changes.
• Report progress to management and monitor performance against forecasts.
