Job summary

Transpower New Zealand Limited seeks a seasoned leader to head the Real-Time Systems Planning & Engineering Practices team. You will guide six technical specialists, set priorities, and align engineering practices with strategic goals for a reliable electricity grid.

This is a people-focused leadership role in a highly technical environment, with collaboration across OT, IT and business units. You will shape capability, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, robust delivery of real-time

Qualifications

Proven experience leading and developing technical people.
Ability to turn complex requirements into clear priorities and practical plans.
Collaborative, able to engage with technical, operational and business teams.
Strong relationship management and influencing skills across organisational boundaries.
Experience developing and improving technical policies, standards and governance.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop technical specialists with clear expectations and succession planning.
Manage business plans, budgets and work programmes aligned to priorities.
Strengthen engineering policies, standards and assurance activities.
Oversee engineering environments, tools and release management across OT, IT, and project teams.
Build trusted relationships across peers and stakeholders to influence outcomes.
