Job summary

Bank of New Zealand is seeking a Senior Project Manager to deliver high‑quality technology initiatives. The role sits in the Technology Portfolio, coordinating across infrastructure, engineering and workplace projects with a hybrid work pattern.

Anchors days in the office are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Based in Auckland or Wellington, you will lead cross‑functional teams, manage budgets and risks, and report to the Head of Portfolio.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering major IT projects.
• Experience in financial management, estimating and investment planning for major upgrades and changes to IT systems and infrastructure.
• Ability to confidently present to senior stakeholders.
• Proven knowledge and experience with the application of Agile delivery planning and management methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage interdependencies between initiatives and activities that cross Technology Domains.
• Ensure costs and finances are managed effectively within budget to look to save money and drive down costs of operating and supporting technology investments and support full cost recovery.
• Identify, monitor and control risk to ensure sustainable business and customer outcomes and to reduce technical debt and security vulnerabilities.
• Estimation and forecasting required to support the Quarterly Planning Sessions (QPS).
• Conduct regular project meetings/updates and provide progress reports when required
