Job summary

Te Papa Tongarewa seeks an Internal Communications Lead to craft and deliver internal communications strategies that align with our priorities. You will work directly with the Chief Executive and senior leaders to ensure trusted messaging across the organisation.

You will also manage proactive external communications for sensitive or crisis situations and strengthen relationships with media and key stakeholders, while coaching leaders in communications related to change and staff engagement.

Qualifications

• Senior internal communications practitioner with experience across multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex information for broad audiences and advise senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop internal communications strategies and channels that connect staff with organisational priorities.
• Support managers to deliver communications plans and audience-appropriate messaging.
• Proactively manage reputational risk through external communications in sensitive or crisis situations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media and external stakeholders.
