Job summary

Watercare Services Limited in Auckland is seeking a Strategic Programme Planning Manager to lead planning and development of large-scale infrastructure programmes.

You will engage with senior executives and the Watercare Board, provide robust governance, and ensure delivery milestones, risks and dependencies are actively managed.

This role offers autonomy in a high-profile environment, with opportunities to influence investment decisions and the long-term infrastructure plan.

Qualifications

• Proven success delivering large, complex infrastructure programmes.
• Ability to solve complex problems and handle uncertainty.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for reports and board papers.
• Strong understanding of full project and programme lifecycle.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
• Experience with programmes or projects valued at >= $100M.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, planning, infrastructure.
• Experience in water, wastewater, utilities or related sectors is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility, planning and development phases of large-scale infrastructure programmes.
• Provide structure, discipline and momentum to complex programmes.
• Deliver robust governance, reporting and planning to executives and the Watercare Board.
• Navigate ambiguity to progress work with minimal direction.
• Develop high-quality reports, business cases and board papers.
• Build trusted relationships across executives, delivery teams, regulators, iwi and community reps.
• Drive alignment across multiple workstreams to meet statutory obligations and community commitments.
