Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a sharp Business Analyst to drive strategic initiatives in the financial services sector, based in Queenstown, New Zealand. You will bridge business needs and technology solutions, defining requirements and guiding delivery.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, translate needs into functional specs and user stories, facilitate workshops, and support testing to ensure solutions meet objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in banking/financial services.
• Proven ability to gather and document complex business and functional requirements.
• Strong understanding of business analysis tools and methodologies (e.g., UML, Agile).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for financial systems and processes.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories for development teams.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather requirements and scope.
• Analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend technology solutions.
